Beyonce Unveils Ivy Park Athleisure Collection

Fashion

The first news about a Beyoncé x Topshop possible collaboration began breaking the Internet back in October 2014, and it took one more year to finally get any sort of confirmation. And now, on April 1st, we can finally see its results (it’s not an April Fool’s Day prank!). To develop Beyonce’s entire Ivy Park athleisure collection, as Topshop’s owner Sir Philip Green revealed, it took a grand total of 18 months and, apparently, it is “just the beginning” of the brilliant Beyonce x Topshop journey; speaking of excitement!

Beyonce for Topshop Ivy PArk 2016 Athleisure Collection

Named after Beyoncé and Jay Z’s daughter Blue Ivy, a preview of the collection was unveiled yesterday via the singer’s Youtube channel, where Beyoncé herself gave us a sneak peek of her athleisure-inspired Ivy Park pieces. The video consists of a well-balanced array of black & white shots, where we can spot Queen B standing in the middle of a playground, wearing her lineup’s items. The video then goes all the way into its more motivational mode, with Beyoncé running on a treadmill, stretching and working out in general. At the end, she even explains what the meaning behind the Ivy Park collection is.

“I would wake up in the morning, and my dad would come knocking on my door, telling me it’s time to go running. […]I remember wanting to stop, but I would push myself to keep going. It taught me discipline and I would think about my dreams; I would think about the sacrifices my parents made for me. I would think about my little sister and how I was her hero. I would look at the beauty around me, the sunshine through the trees; I would keep breathing.”

The promo even features Ivy Park’s main source of inspiration, Blue Ivy, who is filmed while wearing some utterly cute mini versions of the activewear collection’s ensembles. The collection will sell starting from April 14 via 12 retail chains and in more than 50 countries, including Zalando (which means there’s more chance to get your hands on the pieces!), Net-a-Porter and Topshop. It’s a huge collection indeed, with more than 200 pieces the price tags of which range from $30 to $200.

Ivy Park is perfect for anyone who likes to work out, from beginner runners to those who are fitness aficionados. It has technical performance characteristics, which will make anyone feel at ease while doing either yoga or lifting up weights, and includes everything from leggings (which come in three shapes) to bodysuits, varsity socks, sport bras and of course print jackets, which will be perfect to wear from the office to the gym. All of the pieces have been created to enhance the women’s body and to make them feel empowered.

“There are things I’m still afraid of. When I have to conquer those things I still go back to that park. Before I hit the stage I go back to that park. When it was time for me to give birth, I went back to that park. The park became a state of mind. The park became my strength. The park is what made me who I am. Where is your park?”

Tori Praver Summer 2016 Swimwear Collection

Fashion

By now, we know that Tori Praver can do just about anything. In her swimwear business, she has found great success as a designer, but with her stunning beach bod, the supermodel can even model her own looks, taking out a step in the process. It can be hard finding the perfect model for each new collection, but if you can do it yourself, then why not?

Tori Praver Summer 2016 Swimwear Collection

For the latest Tori Praver summer 2016 swimwear collection, she presented a very sex-driven line, with rather skimpy swimsuits for the beach season. The silhouettes are fresh and interesting, and the added sex appeal makes them ideal for anyone who isn’t afraid of showing up to the beach and using it as their personal catwalk, because all eyes are going to be on whoever decides to rock these swimsuits.

The bottoms are all ran high, to give a very cheeky display, which is where a great deal of the line’s sexiness comes into play. But she also paired this sometimes with a high waistline, which often works to counteract sensuality a bit, replacing it with a classic cuteness. In this case, however, Praver added cutouts and ties in many of these pieces, which kept things modern and cool. Those that are not high-waisted are often thin bands that employ the same cutout and tie appeal as the others.

Her one-piece swimsuits broke this mold, since naturally how high the waist is wouldn’t matter, and even though you were still getting minimal fabric on the backside, the added coverage in the midriff made everything sweeter. Her halter-styled piece is smooth with a textured fabric that would give great shape to the wearer’s body, although might be hard to pull off for the busty customers (although that could be said about many of the suits in this line). On the other hand, her yellow one-piece option with a paneled floral print is completely cute and sweet, with a classic design on top suited for more women’s body types. She didn’t give up her fun styling decisions altogether, by adding in lace-up details up the sides of one garment, making it lovelier.

The overall Tori Praver bikini looks are cute, as well, even above their glaring tones of sexuality. One such set that looked stunning is a strapless, barely-there top paired with solid, high-waisted bottoms. The design has sleeve caps in line with the bust, hanging on Praver’s arms, while the bust-strap is very thin, not allowing for much coverage above or below the bust line. If your goal is to show off your beach bod to the best of your ability, then this look is definitely designed with you in mind – Praver clearly designed this for herself, much as all of the looks in her line, because each one highlights her best features in one way or another.

As a model, being a talented designer is probably one of the best things to add on; she will never have to worry about finding the perfect swimsuit for a trip to the beach, because she can design and receive whatever she wants. Although those of us on the purchasing end will just be here to purchase the products of the multi-talented Praver – and her judgment as far as sensual swimwear is one I would trust any day.

Free People Festival 2016 Lookbook Has A Kaleidoscopic Effect

Fashion

The Free People Festival 2016 lookbook has just been unveiled, and it’s kaleidoscopic. Whenever Coachella and Spring Break are in the air,Free People delights us with an ad hoc inspirational festival lookbook, which this time literally catapults us back to the Seventies and makes us feel a bittersweet kind of nostalgia (even though most of us weren’t even born, in the Seventies). Along with Free People, Spanish retailerMango treated us to some festival-inspired proposals too, meaning that we now have an array of festival outfis for 2016 to wear not only to the forthcoming spring festivals, but also to all the cheerful summer parties too. You can already snag up these lovely essentials for your spring wardrobes heading to Free People’s website!

Free People Festival 2016 Lookbook

While Free People’s latest lookbook featured a softer focus and accentuated the Seventies’ most delicate and boho side, the Kaleidoscope Skies lookbook celebrates the hippy culture at its purest, with all its cosmically-charged colors, magical rainbow touches and goddess-like silhouettes. Lensed by Tina De Leon and styled by Karolina Bernat, the Free People Kaledoscope Skies lookbook features Alina Weber, letting her perfectly embody the whole party girl in the Seventies mood. Waving us peacefully off with a tambourine in her hand, Alina Weber sports au naturel makeup and hairstyle that gracefully match the proposals’ floaty lines and vintage prints, not to mention the shredded effects, the fringing and studs that will make anyone giggle.

As for the hues, the lookbook brings in all the colors of Mother Nature, meaning that one could easily find anything from earth-toned blouses to billowy, fresh rainbow-colored maxi gowns. The line-up does not only showcase oversized attire options, as most of the shorts and shirts are meant to make your legs, bellies and shoulders shine under the summery bright sun. For an even cooler effect, and just in case you would like to cover a few more areas, try adding length with any of the fringed waistcoats, which are also meant to be paired either with summer flats or chunky ankle cowgirl boots.

Suede vests will protect you from the windiest days, while band tees will serve as the perfect daytime outwear option when you just want to go to sunbathe at the park (not to mention the possibility to sporting them with a more glam rock outfit). Bell-bottom jeans, lace-up crop-tops and multi-colored crochet pullovers will then quickly become essential staples to wear both at the festivals and at any Seventies-themed party.

To top it all off, Free People put a lot of emphasis on the accessory line, offering quirky kaleidoscopic sunglasses, suede hats, leather choker necklaces and, of course, headbands, which will effortlessly complete each festival outfit.

Jill Stuart Romantic Marine Summer 2016 Collection

Fashion

You’ve been working hard for months, and although summer is still behind a few hills, nothing can stop you from planning a perfect vacation. The beach and the freedom under the hot sun… the idea is motivating enough to distract you from a day’s work. We apologize beforehand, but you’ve got to hear the latest news. To help you out with the upcoming beach vacation, here’s a fresh treat, the all new Jill Stuart Romantic Marine summer 2016 makeup collection. It’s time to measure your expectations; were you expecting a bright and fun makeup collection? Well, you have it.

Jill Stuart Romantic Marine Summer 2016 Collection

The new Romantic Marine 2016 collection is feminine, but not in a womanly way, but more suited for girls and the youth in their college years. The product design has undoubtedly been carried out having the playful adventurer in mind. And the inspiration was Santorini…

Have you watched the musical “Mamma Mia” (2008), starring Amanda Seyfried and Meryl Streep. If no, give it a try today, if yes, take the hot Greek atmosphere of the movie and wrap it around yourself for the next five minutes.

Jill Stuart’s new collection derives its inspiration from one of the most beautiful islands of Greece – the magical Santorini. This is why the ad campaign features sea blue in almost every product. In Santorini, navy is a signature color, present not only in the deep waters around the island, but also on the charming roofs of the white overcrowded buildings.

The collection includes:

● Mixed Blush Compact UV Veil SPF 20 (Limited Edition)
● Ribbon Couture Eyes Palette (Limited Edition)
● Forever Juicy Oil Rouge Sheer (10 ml)
● Sheel Nuance Eyelind Liner (Limited Edition)
● Romantic Marine Pouch (Limited Edition)
● Jill Stuart Nail Lacquer R (Limited Edition)
● Nail Art Liner

Take a special note of the liquid eyeliner and the colors it comes in. It’s far from the classic white cat eye lines, but the collection offers more playful alternatives – pearl white, pearl pink, and navy. Study your eyes very carefully, one of these shades will make your eye color pop up and play an extra chord with the rest of your sun-tanned body.

Even when the night falls, Santorini’s white architecture contrasts the dark of the sky, just like your eyes contrasting to the chocolate shade of your summer body.

Jill Stuart Romantic Marine Summer 2016 Collection

While you wouldn’t call these shades flashy, they are pretty bright. Nothing mysterious or dramatic about it, the collection is for the girls who are looking for good times and great memories this summer. Lots of pink, coral, and dark blue… three colors that will most surely match with your vacation wardrobe.

While some shades are permanent, many are limited-edition and if you’ve found one that made your list of favorites, you might want to stock up with a few. There is not much time left; the collection will be available for sale in Japan starting April 8.

Fashion

Bouchra Jarrar womenswear at Lanvin

“Bouchra Jarrar is a talented and visionary designer. She is the obvious choice for Lanvin. Her timeless style is in keeping with the style and values of our company, founded by Jeanne Lanvin more than a century ago,” said Lanvin CEO Michèle Huiban in a statement. “Her talent, her high standards and her mastery of cuts and fabrics will bring a breath of freshness and modernity into the house, while respecting its soul as the oldest Paris fashion house, a symbol of French elegance.”

The 45 year old Parisian designer has worked at big name brands like Balenciaga and Christian Lacroix and supposedly beat out a formidable list of prospects including Simone Rocha, Huishan Zhang and Erdem Moralioglu for her new role. Jarrar launched her own brand in 2010.

“It is a huge honor to continue promoting the Lanvin style, with designs created in the company’s ‘ateliers’ by teams who possess extraordinary expertise,” Jarrar said, “Joining Lanvin meets a desire to expend my creation to wider fields of expression. It is my intention to bring to Lanvin the harmony and consistency of a fashion designed for women, a fashion of our time.”

Jarrar will report to Lanvin on Monday to start working on Lanvin’s spring 2017 womenswear collection which will hit the runway this fall.
